#ASCENOGIRLS - Morgane Lay

Morgane Lay, is a fashion and lifestyle photographer based in London who lives with her photography partner and husband, Johnny Cochrane and their 18 month old son, Louis. Morgane shoots the Spring Summer 2025 collection on location in South Africa where she recently spent two-months travelling with her family. She tells us her dream holiday companion, dream travel destination still on her bucket list; and her favourite look from the new collection.

Wardrobe Essentials?

A really good pair of black trousers, the white Formentera linen shirt, a navy cashmere jumper, the Valencia slip dress in black silk and a pair of Venetian Mary Jane.

Favourite look from the ASCENO collection?

Currently spending two months exploring South Africa to break the bleakness of our British winter. We also managed to get some work down here so I don't feel too guilty about being away for so long. We explored the West Coast, spent some time in Cape Town and now staying in Kommetjie, which is really quiet and has the most beautiful beach.

My husband!

Always in your carryon?

Moisturiser, lip balm, a film camera, headphones, my Asceno eye mask, sunglasses, a pair of cashmere socks and the Aurelia trousers with the matching shirt in case my suitcase gets lost. I always have a few pieces of clothing as a back up!

Travel destination on your bucket list?

Cavallo Island - I was only there for work but dying to take my husband and son there. It's the most special place and luckily not many people know about it. Also booking a little beach cottage in Churhhaven for net year when we come back to SA - it's so quiet and the most beautiful blue water I've ever seen.

Can't leave home without?

My phone.

But also... Nappy bag, snacks and books that play French rhymes.

 

What are you reading or watching right now?

I feel like I don't have time to watch or ready anything at the moment with my son running around!

 

 

Night owl or up with the birds? 

Up with the birds with a baby who's blessing me with 5:30am wake up at the moment.

 

 

Bedtime rituals?

It really depends on how tired I am but I usually have a long shower then a strong skincare routine that I've finally nailed after 4-5 years. I always try to spend a good 5-10 mins cleansing my face, hydrating it and massaging the wrinkly spots.
